Your Community Pub for over Eight years...
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to one and all. Thank you everyone who has supported the pub over the last year in whatever capacity - as volunteer, customer or whatever! It has been quite a year too. A new community group has raised funds to secure the purchase and running of the building which has made sure that we will not be losing our tenancy as a community pub which was brilliant for us and the village as a whole. We have also had a change in our Bar Manager. Jodie has gone on to her new life in South Devon and Charlie has joined us and is doing a great job in maintaining the bar and the cellar and supporting the work of our volunteers. Carolyn continues to run our very popular kitchen and is providing lovely Christmas dinners for everyone that books (see details under food tab). We are please to say that Carolyn is taking a well earned break for a few weeks in January when she is taking the opportunity to visit her daughter in Australia - enjoy!
As usual, we have a fun filled Christmas programme (see Events tab). Nearly all of our regular events are holding a special Christmas evening - what a good time to join in if you haven't already. We also have the popular gathering to sing carols in the bar on Thursday 17 December. If you're in the party spirit you might like to come along to the special Christmas Dinner Party Night (Saturday 14 December - bookings only). On the following Saturday (21 December) get your dancing shoes on for Pennsylvania Railroad and again for Stay Lucky on New Year's Eve. Up until Christmas we will be holding a Christmas draw - all the money raised is used to pay for the prizes. If you want to enter, come in and sign a box on the chart on the wall (£1 a go). prizes will be drawn on the Monday evening before Christmas.
Everyone at the Stoke Canon Inn hopes to help you have a lovely Christmas ad we will you contentment and happiness in 2020!!
