Your Community Pub for NINE years!

First of all we are proud to announce that we have been awarded the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service - the MBE for voluntary groups.  We are honoured to have been recognised in this way and look forward to coming together to celebrate.

This month is a special month for us as we will have been your local community pub for nine years.  No mean feat, so let us take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who has made it work and continue as a friendly community hub for all this time.  All the volunteers, the committee and directors, our bar co-ordinator, Charlie and Carolyn who provides us with traditional and tasty food.

We dont know when we will be able to reopen but hopefully it will be some time in July.  In the meantime we continue to provide a takeaway service and as soon as the situation changes we will let you know.

In the meantime Charlie, our bar co-ordinator has been furloughed.  We have secured a £10,000 small business grant and the borrowings on the building have been been granted a 12 month repayment holiday.  Some of our suppliers have either reduced their charges by 50% or suspended them for the time being - every little helps as they say.

Hopefully you have been taking advantage of Carolyn's takeaway service which gives you all the chance to have a treat during the week.  With a small team of volunteers she has made it possible for people who are self-isolating to enjoy some fish and chips or a roast dinner.

So, sing Happy Birthday to us on 17 June as you're washing our hands and we hope to see you all soon.

Keep safe everyone!!
